Website Ads

Updated: Mar 9, 2023

Has SunJeong gone too far? How greed changes people.

You may have noticed that in the past few days the website has undergone some changes. At first it was changes with the menu bars, new pages (like the permissions section and store), and some minor movement of some elements. But this morning I activated ADS. That's right, I decided to include ads on my website.

What does this mean? Nothing really. I have complete control in the placement of my ads and I've made sure that they appear only at the header and footer of the website. The bodies/contents won't contain any ads. This is especially true for the actual mod pages where I have download buttons. They also appear to be cookie based according to Google Adsense. This means that you shouldn't see deliberate offensive advertisements. Your ads are your cookies/browsing history. I've also made sure to blacklist most porn related ads.

What if I Don't Want Ads?

I'm completely okay with that. Just turn on adblocker, I don't mind. I just figured I'd try to let the ad earn a few cents for me to pay off website and domain fees. But 99.99% of this is still funded via Patreon (thanks patrons!).

Rest assured you WILL NOT see me begging you to turn off your adblock or add me to whitelisting. You will not see intrusive pop-up ads to disable stuff.

Will the greed ever stop?

Maybe. I mean, I did add a future store page. We will see. But in terms of mods, yes it will always be free like always. Always full versions, always free.

On a more serious note, if many people want me to not run ads at all just let me know in the comments. I don't mind removing them.

Alternatively, if you see ads are being intrusive beyond the headers/footers OR if some ads are showing super messed up things then please let me know. I can fix that.

Thanks for understanding everyone!

Update December 17, 2022:

I've decided to just remove the ads. My website isn't exactly work friendly. As a result, Google placed a restriction on the ads that run on my site. This means that until I censor or become more family friendly, I will get low quality spam ads.

I felt that this wasn't worth the ad space on my website if all I'm gonna get are crappy ads that barely earn me 5 cents a month.

I always use ad blockers but I'll disable for you. Isn't a big deal since they are not intrusive.

Thank you so much for all of your work, kind Sun. 😊

Ads are understandable. Upkeep of your website and such are a necessary expense. But I'm more than happy to whitelist your site to support you.

Get the money. We know you’re not about the money but you’re literally paying for us to get these mods by hosting and having this website. Bastards are out there charging for mods straight up. Ads ain’t shit.
